WZL: Production Metrology and Quality Management (P)
The Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL - Werkzeugmaschinenlabor) is a research centre for production engineering and part of the RWTH Aachen University
It incorporates the Chair of Production Metrology and Quality Management held by Prof. Robert Schmitt who is also the current President (Dec. 2020) of the 3D Metrology Conference (3DMC - see separate listing).

XenomatiX designs solid-state lidar systems combined with camera imaging to create real-time 3D point-cloud acquisition for a wide range of applications in tranportation, industry, construction, agriculture and mining.
This centre of expertise is part of the WZL at the RWTH Aachen University and has a focus on metrology-assisted assembly.
The centre acts as the interface between industry and the WZL Aachen and is similar to a UK RTO with a membership structure for commercial companies.
